HPREC Program Exceeds Its Goals
Over the past year and a half, the Hawai‘i Pacific Regional Extension Center (HPREC) Program has been actively working with primary care providers (PCPs) to assist them in achieving Meaningful Use of electronic health records (EHRs) and sign them up to receive technical support services from the HPREC's health information technology consultants. The target for sign-ups was 525 PCPs by February 2012—the actual sign-up was 568! The HPREC consultants also helped 297 PCPs use their EHRs to send electronic prescriptions and generate clinical quality reports and assisted 27 PCPs with achieving and attesting to Meaningful Use.
For more information on the HPREC, please visit www.hawaiihie.org/rec.
REMINDER: October 3rd, 2012 is the last day for NEW eligible professionals to begin their 90-day reporting period to receive the maximum Medicare EHR incentive payment.
